Educate a girl, empower a woman, inspire a community, change lives!

On average over the past five years, we have sponsored 9 girls per year in Bangladesh.

The following story is from one of our beneficiaries, highlighting her ambition and the obstacles that prevented her from completing secondary school before she was sponsored.

To protect her identity, the name of the girl has been changed.

Aadhya’s Story

“My ambition is to be a teacher in future and it is quite impossible to achieve this objective without your financial support”

Aadhya is a straight-A student. Her parents are divorced and it is a constant struggle for her mother to support her education on her own. In 2013, her education was disrupted by political unrest. She has to travel a long way to reach her school in Dhaka, and she was forced to miss 52 days of school when it was too dangerous for her to travel. However, with the help of the CGEF, and her hard work, she has been able to continue her education and keep up her excellent grades.

“As my home is far from my school and it was too risky to go outside, I couldn’t attend classes due to the political unrest all over Bangladesh. However, despite this I got a 5.0 GPA in my exams, which is a good result and would not have been possible without your financial help.
